Diagnostics

C2a-IMG 3022-clinical-diagnosticsThe Animal Clinic of East Avenue maintains extensive state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies to provide fast and accurate information and help us identify the best possible path to successful treatment.

We have recently upgraded to a digital x-ray system to assure fast and accurate first-tier diagnostic imaging. When advanced imaging is needed (e.g., active cardiac imaging, organ function evaluation, and early-term fetal viability,) our doctors are fully-trained and proficient with our in-house ultrasonic imaging system.

Beyond imaging, we maintain an in-house laboratory to provide us with immediate results to full blood work, urinalysis, cytology and heartworm testing. In some cases, rapid on-site laboratory results can facilitate time-critical treatment which can make the difference in a successful recovery.

C2b-laboratory microscopeOur five-lead EKG (Electro Kardio Gram), provides our staff with real-time vitals monitoring during procedural anesthesia to keep your pet securepain-free and secure and is as well as detailed cardiac evaluation with cases

In order to fully leverage our many diagnostic advantages, we are fully networked for real-time Telemedicine. This affords you with access to the world’s most qualified veterinary specialists if your pet’s case requires outside consultation.

Pet Health Tips

Fleas and Ticks:

We are seeing more and more ticks on our pets in our area.  Particularly if you travel east or south of Rochester.  Although we do not want these insects that carry diseases on our precious companions, we also do not want them in our environment to bite us as well.  There are many topical and oral flea and tick preventions available to help protect our pets and environment.  Some incorperate heartworm and intestinal prevention and some do not.

Check out information about Ticks in your environment @ http://www.dogsandticks.com/diseases_in_your_area.php or you can look up the area you and your pet will be traveling to in order to protect yourself and your pet.

As always, talk to us about preventives when you come in.
